Roma 14th november - officialy presented national seminar

 

ADEI-WIZO, the Italian Wizo Federation, has organised a seminar in Florence, Milan, Rome and Verona thanks to the sponsorship of UCEI, The Union of Italian Jewish Communities and Local Authorities of the towns mentioned above.

The seminar has been conducted by two of Israel’s leading experts  Angelica Calò Livnè and Shaul Ben Torà on the integration of children from various cultural and ethnic origins in the mainstream of education. This complex and crucially important event was aimed at Italian teachers who have only recently been presented with the challenge of absorbing foreign children into the Italian community.

The Israeli lecturers offered their experience  to find similarities between the two countries in order to possibly and hopefully find a solution for a smooth and natural integration.

 The importance of this experience will go beyond the practical benefit: it has in fact exposed the Italian accademic world to the advanced Israeli culture and its caring attitude towards social well-being of all its citizens.

Being the European media very often critical of Israeli policies, the acknowledgement of Israel’s

achievement in cultural integration is the best “hasbarà” which Adei-Wizo could do.
