Israel’s 60th Independence Day

Tel Aviv, May 4, 2008

Dear Chavera,

 At sunset on Wednesday evening, May 7^th, the State of Israel will commemorate Remembrance Day for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror. Twenty-four hours later, Remembrance Day will conclude with the raising of the Israeli flag from half mast to its full height, and celebrations for Israel’s 60^th Independence Day will commence.

Furthermore, we would like to refer you to the Jewish Agency web site, www.60israel.org. To paraphrase their resource guide, Israel’s 60^th anniversary offers an opportunity to highlight Israel’s considerable achievements and accomplishments. It is also an opportunity to engage WIZO members in reflection and celebration about the significance of this landmark event.
